Bed linen that always smells good

Nothing is more pleasant than to slip into a bed whose sheets have just been washed and dried in the sun! Unfortunately the weather does not always allow to dry the linen in the open air, but there are a few tricks to get a delicately scented bed linen in any season.

Spread the laundry as soon as the wash cycle is over to prevent it from "soaking" in the machine.

If the weather doesn’t allow you to hang your clothes outside (or if you live in an apartment) hang them near the window to dry quickly, clothes that take several days to dry will quickly take on an unpleasant smell.

Banish chemical softeners that are not healthy for the skin and opt for a few drops of white vinegar in the softener tray of the washing machine to deodorize the laundry and add a few drops of essential oils to perfume the laundry. Lavender, citrus fruits, many scents are available.

Put some sachets of lavender in your cupboard, ideal for perfume, lavender is also effective against moths!

To recover the brightness of the white of your bed linen

White fabrics tend to turn grey over time. It is possible to regain a bright white colour thanks to certain ingredients present in your kitchen.

Lemon has a whitening action, you can add the juice of half a lemon to your laundry or place slices of lemon in a cloth bag directly in the drum with the laundry.

Baking soda is also effective for whiter laundry. Two tablespoons of baking soda added to the detergent will neutralize the limescale and thus enhance the bleaching action of the detergent.

Marseille soap is also very effective, just soap the linen with soap and leave it for at least an hour before washing in the machine to obtain whiter linen. A more restrictive method to reserve for small rooms.
