A cot suitable from newborn to around 3 years of age

A crib with bars is generally suitable for infants and toddlers up to around 2-3 years, depending on the child's growth and sleeping needs.

As your child grows, they may become too large or active for the crib, making it time to transition to a toddler bed or a standard-sized bed. Some children may be ready for a larger bed before age 2 or 3, while others may benefit from staying in a crib a bit longer.

It's essential to monitor your child's development and maturity to determine when it's the right time to transition to a bigger bed.

Cribs must meet certain safety standards to ensure the protection and well-being of babies and toddlers. These standards vary from country to country, but here are the criteria for which our Turia 60x120cm crib has been tested:

- Spacing of slats:The spacing between the slats of the crib must comply with safety standards (between 4.5 and 6.5cm). In general, the spacing should be small enough to prevent a baby's head from falling through, and wide enough to allow good air circulation.

Easy 3-position base adjustment

Our Turia 60x120cm baby bed is designed to adapt to your child's growth and changing needs during the first few months of life. Here's a general guide to when you might want to consider changing the height position of the base of the Turia crib:

- High position: The highest mattress position is used from birth and during the first few months, when baby is very small. Usually, this position is used until the baby begins to roll over on his own or lift himself up on his arms, signs that it might be time to lower the mattress. This height is convenient for parents, as it makes it easy to drop off and pick up the baby without having to bend over too far.

- Medium position: Once the baby starts to become more active and dynamic, rolling over or trying to stand up, it's advisable to lower the mattress to this medium position to avoid any risk of falling when the baby is able to sit up or stand up by holding on to the bed's bars.

- Low position: When baby becomes more mobile, starts to stand up on his own, or reaches a size where he might try to climb out of the crib, it's time to place the mattress in the lowest position to ensure his safety. This will prevent the baby from climbing over the bed.

These indications are general and may vary according to the specific development of each child. It's essential to keep a close eye on your baby's development to know when to adjust the mattress height. Make sure that the crib is always secure and that the baby cannot fall out or hurt himself by adjusting the mattress height accordingly.

The density of the foam in our Aloé R mattress is 25 kg/m². This density is an important factor to consider to ensure adequate support and comfort for your baby during sleep.

The 25 kg/m² density for a baby mattress will therefore offer a good balance between firmness and comfort to properly support your baby's growing body. This can help prevent posture problems and promote healthy muscle and bone development.

In summary, a density of 25 kg/m² may be suitable for a baby mattress, but make sure you also consider other important aspects such as safety (standards and certifications) and specific recommendations to offer your baby a safe and comfortable sleeping environment.

An eco-conscious composition

Among other things, our Aloé R mattress stands for "Recycled".

In fact, all the polyester fibers originally used in the mattress have been replaced with recycled polyester fibers. Make no mistake: recycled polyester still offers several advantages over virgin (or non-recycled) polyester:

• Reduced waste and pollution: By using recycled polyester, Kadolis reduces the amount of plastic waste in the environment (reusing existing materials instead of producing new raw materials)
• Conservation of resources: Recycling polyester uses fewer natural resources (such as crude oil), since recycled polyester is made from PET plastic bottles, textile waste or other existing sources of polyester.
• Smaller carbon footprint: The production of recycled polyester generally requires less energy than the production of new polyester. As a result, it helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impact of climate change.
• Promotion of a circular economy: The use of recycled polyester promotes the concept of a circular economy by encouraging the reuse of materials, thereby extending their lifespan and reducing the need to produce new materials.
• Naturally flame-retardant: The big advantage of polyester, and why we chose it, is that it has naturally flame-retardant characteristics, so we don't need to add chemical treatment.

What's more, this foam-core baby mattress is covered with a softly comfortable TENCEL™ Lyocell and polyester cover. TENCEL™ Lyocell is a natural material made from wood pulp. It has a naturally air-conditioning action, enabling you to sleep at the right temperature at all times.

Finally, the coating of Aloe Vera (a popular plant widely used for its medicinal and cosmetic properties) on the cover ensures that the mattress is extremely soft and naturally irresistible to the touch.

Our Aloé R mattress is also referred to as "Vacuum-rolled".

Vacuum packaging reduces its carbon footprint and lowers greenhouse gas emissions. We recommend unpacking the mattress carefully upon receipt and not leaving it vacuum-packed for too long (maximum 30 days).

Sizes adapted to cribs (60x120cm or 70x140cm)

The two most common sizes for baby beds are 60x120 cm and 70x140 cm. They are available to meet the needs and preferences of parents, as well as the evolving needs of the child.

• 60x120 cm: This format is often considered the standard size for cribs. It is ideal for smaller bedrooms or for parents with limited space. This bed is generally used from birth and can be used until the child is around 2-3 years old, or even a little older depending on the child's growth.
• 70x140 cm: This crib size is slightly larger, offering more space for the baby. This format is more durable over time, as it can accompany the child for a longer period. It can be used from birth and can often be transformed into a junior bed thanks to removable rails, extending its use until the child is older (4-5 years or even more).

The choice between these two sizes often depends on the size of the room, the parents' preferences in terms of design and functionality, and the expected duration of use of the cot.

Mattress quality, however, remains the same for all sizes.

Reassuring certifications and standards for a chemical-free mattress

The NF EN 16890 standard, issued in April 2018, concerns baby mattresses and aims to guarantee safety and quality criteria for baby mattresses among other things. We'll explain this standard in a few key points:

• Purpose of the standard: NF EN 16890 establishes safety, performance and composition requirements for mattresses intended for babies and young children, ensuring their compliance with European safety standards.
• Safety criteria: It specifies strict criteria concerning firmness, risk of entrapment or suffocation, durability of materials, resistance to deformation, flammability and other safety-related aspects of baby mattresses.
• Control of harmful substances: The standard also includes regulations on the presence of harmful substances such as heavy metals, flame-retardant treatments, etc., to ensure that the mattress poses no health risk to the child.

What's more, the Aloé R baby mattress is fully OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification means that the product has been tested and certified to meet certain safety and quality standards. This includes checking for the presence of harmful substances such as pesticides, heavy metals, allergenic dyes, regulated chemicals and other hazardous substances according to standard 100, for example, which is one of the most common certifications under OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification also guarantees that the product complies with ecological criteria, notably by limiting the use of certain chemical substances harmful to the environment.

An ultra-practical, fully removable cover!

The fact that our Aloé R baby mattress cover is fully removable offers many advantages, especially for you, the parents!

• Ease of cleaning: A removable mattress cover allows parents to easily remove it for washing in the event of accidents, spit-up, or any other incident. This helps keep the mattress clean and hygienic. The cover can simply be machine washed at a maximum of 30 degrees, with a spin speed of 500 rpm. However, we do not recommend tumble-drying the cover; instead, let it air dry.
• Durability and longevity: Removing the cover prolongs the life of the mattress. By washing the cover regularly, you can prevent the build-up of dirt, dust mites and bacteria that could otherwise impair the quality of the mattress.

However, the mattress cover does not prevent you from using and protecting your mattress with a waterproof mattress protector and a fitted sheet adapted to mattress sizes 60x120cm or 70x140cm.
